Well, we did it. We stayed up, much to my dislike. We prefer our sleeping schedule not to be disturbed although the breakfast on the flight was good. On the bright side, we got lots of steps and active minutes after we arrived! It was crazy this morning. We waited at the airport for 2 hours. Then we had to take a bus which took a while to arrive. Luckily, the hotel allowed us to have an early check-in for one of our rooms. We had dim sum, and it was really good. A favorite dish was the egg yolk buns. Our hotel room is nice. We are glad to request bottled water in glass bottles which are good for the environment.

Pick up by cousin

A cousin was meeting us at the airport so we waited a little to find him. While we waited, we got our Octopus cards which is like a Clipper card in the Bay Area so you can use it for transit. I think you may be able to use it in other places as well, but we only used it for the bus and metro.

Bus to Hotel

We went on the bus and walked the rest of the way to our hotel for check-in.

Check into Eaton HK

We got settled in our room and this is the view.

Dim Sum at Star Seafood Restaurant

We ate our first meal in Hong Kong and it was dim sum, of course! 🙂 The food is so good. None of it tasted oily like it does in some places we have been locally where we live.

That’s me! I poked a hole in my custard bun so it would cool down faster because I really wanted to eat it!

Light Dinner at Australian Dairy Co.

We liked the glass elevators in the hotel that we took to go up and down every day.

Delicious food! This was so yummy and we loved that it was a really “light” meal.

This reminds me of either an Asian soup nazi place or those cheesesteak places in Philly. You have to sit where you’re told, put your stuff down if they tell you to, order quickly, and eat quickly. In return, they do serve you quite quickly…as in, the person turned around and grabbed the dish that we wanted because it was ready just like that. There’s oftentime a line but you never have to wait too long.
