The Star

We are a bunch of writers and storytellers around here and a few months ago we were thinking of taking already-written stories and telling the stories from the point-of-view of another character. We did think of writing a story from the donkey’s viewpoint of the Christmas story, but now we don’t have to! It is going to be on the big screen! The Star releases on Friday, November 17. Let us know if you’ll be lining up to watch…or even come watch with us if you are in the area!

I remember performing in The Small One musical in elementary school and this movie reminds me of that story. A small donkey longs for something beyond the typical donkey life. In The Star, Bo leaves the village mill and goes on an adventure of his dreams. He encounters a sheep named Ruth who has lost her flock and a dove named Dave who has some major goals. There are also three funny camels and other eccentric stable animals. They all become heroes in the greatest story ever told – the first Christmas. We are looking forward to watching this one. From the looks of the trailer, it’s going to be a fun one for the whole family.

There are some activities on the website for the kiddos. It is a great way to connect to the story before they watch it in theaters. Here’s an Animated Coloring Book.
