MELODY (AGE 10)

What is it about: It’s about a girl and her dad, and the things she likes to do with her dad.
Like: Some things I like about it are: the cursive script in some parts of the book, how it emphasizes the bond between the father and daughter, and the bright colors.
Dislike: I don’t think the front and back designed pages with the polka dots matches the rest of the book.
Recommend: I recommend this for kids ages 3-8.

EMILY (AGE 7)

What is it about: The book is about the girl having a tea party with her dad. The girl likes spending time with her dad.
Like: I like the dress and boa, and everything was sparkly.
Dislike: I dislike the bear. It was included in too many pictures.
Recommend: I recommend this to everyone.

A NOTE FROM MELODY + EMILY’S MOM

This is a sweet story of a girl and her dad. The daughter takes great care to prepare for a special time with her dad. While there aren’t many feather boas, sparkly dresses with ribbons, or paper crowns with jewels around here anymore, I love watching the girls’ relationship with their dad grow each and every day. There are lots more moments and memories than the ones I have posted, and I’m sure that more of them are food-related, but it seems the girls like to explore their world together with their dad – from San Francisco to Monterey, from Australia to the pumpkin patch, and beyond! The book gives a great reminder that sometimes we can enjoy those around us in the simple, everyday moments.
