Very Veggie Bedtime Prayers

Prayer is a powerful thing. You can learn that from the time you’re even in preschool! But you can really talk to God about anything  – from your fights with your friends to your best day on your vacation. God will always listen to you – no matter how old or young you are.

What is it about: This book is a great book to start little kids off, especially to teach them the different aspects of praying.
Like: I like the ones where  it says things like, “Now it’s time to get tucked into bed.”
Dislike: I didn’t really dislike anything, but if I did, then it would be the line, “My friend is sick and couldn’t play,” because it uses the word her and some people might have friends who are boys.
Recommend: I would recommend this to ages 2-6.

A NOTE FROM MELODY’S MOM

This brought me back to when the girls were very little. One of our favorite times of the day is bedtime. Yes, it meant the house would be (mostly) quiet soon (at least for a bit), but it was also time to read some of our bedtime prayer books. Bedtime is a great time to reflect on the challenges and blessings of our day. And praying can help us slow down and remember that friend who is sick and may need a meal tomorrow, or celebrating a good grade on a test! Don’t underestimate the power of small, simple rhyming prayers from talking veggies. :p
