There have been so many times in my life that I dreaded or avoided doing something because it was not in my plans or it was out of my comfort zone. But in the end, I’m glad I did it anyway. (To be honest, this is not always the case/result, but it’s great when it is!) It could be when I finally said yes to attending a digital storytelling workshop and can rejoice at the accomplishments of my fellow storytellers (and at my own story) or when I said yes to going to a zoo with a group of mamas and their kiddos even though I know it will be the hottest day of the summer which will for sure give me a migraine and my car battery dies because of the heat but luckily a friend came to give my car jump (true story) but I go and we have a good time watching the monkeys swinging in the trees and petting the goats and enjoying the camaraderie of moms who are in the thick of it just like me.

In the same way, Overcomer is that type of story. A story where, in an unexpected turn of events, a basketball coach with a team on its way to the state championships has to do something completely not in his own plans. Keep reading…

When our identity is wrapped up in a title or something that we do instead of who we truly are or whose we are, it can be frustrating when that title is gone.
