Love you always. Sometimes, depending on which kind of family you’re from, it’s hard to believe you are truly loved. And I get that! Maybe your family is fighting. Or you can’t stand the price of food these days. But deep inside, even when my family is fighting (or when I’m the one fighting!) I know that they really, truly do love me.
Sidenote: The picture below is the book with my bear. I’ve had it for 10 years, and this bear has seen lots of places, like vacations, my EEG…and my bear is still well-loved by me.

I like that this book talks about loving, and how your family loves you no matter what.
I would recommend this book to anybody because we’ve all had families of different kinds, shaped in different ways, and we all know how it feels like to be loved and not loved.
I love my family so much, and I wouldn’t change a thing about them. I know they love me, too.
My favorite part is at the end when it talks about being the one on the family tree, and how you are loved – always.

Author Bio Eileen Spinelli spent Saturdays at the public library as a child, and it was there that she decided to become a writer. She’s authored more than fifty children’s books. Eileen lives in Pennsylvania. When she and her husband, Jerry, who’s also an author, are not writing, they are hanging out with their grandkids (30 and counting), playing Scrabble, reading, watching old movies, and raising Monarch butterflies.
Illustrator Bio Gillian Flint has had a passion for drawing and creating characters for as long as she can remember, so a career in illustration was a natural path for her to take. Her work has been published in the UK, USA, and Australia. She enjoys using watercolors, crayons, ink, and digital illustration. In her spare time, Gillian enjoys reading, spending time with her family, and pottering about in the garden on sunny days.

It’s so cool your whole family can part take in a family blog! Thanks for sharing Melody! Your post about being loved no matter what and the snapshot of your bear immediately reminded me of one of my childhood favorites, a The Velveteen Rabbit.
The famous quote that I’m sure so many love:
Real isn’t how you are made,’ said the Skin Horse. ‘It’s a thing that happens to you. When a child loves you for a long, long time, not just to play with, but REALLY loves you, then you become Real.’
‘Does it hurt?’ asked the Rabbit.
‘Sometimes,’ said the Skin Horse, for he was always truthful. ‘When you are Real you don’t mind being hurt.’
‘Does it happen all at once, like being wound up,’ he asked, ‘or bit by bit?’
‘It doesn’t happen all at once,’ said the Skin Horse. ‘You become. It takes a long time. That’s why it doesn’t happen often to people who break easily, or have sharp edges, or who have to be carefully kept. Generally, by the time you are Real, most of your hair has been loved off, and your eyes drop out and you get loose in the joints and very shabby. But these things don’t matter at all, because once you are Real you can’t be ugly, except to people who don’t understand.
